Though we are still located in the same yard in Chattan Industrial Estate, Bonnybridge, we now have a shiny new skip hire office.  This has come as a result of our continued investment in the business, which this year saw Central House being extended and fully refurbished.

Our new office is very bright and modern.  The floor to ceiling glass windows give panoramic views across the yard, which incorporates our extensive recycling facilities.  The latest technologies are included, with our electronic weighbridge, digital screen and new up-to-date PC system.

You are welcome to pop in and see the office transformation.  The office is open from 7:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday.  We think that all of our customers will be impressed with the change!

Despite the continuing tough economic conditions and the often terrible Scottish weather, we have been kept busy over the past month.  With the office phones ringing frequently and increasing demand, we have recently invested in range of new skips to ensure we have a solid supply to meet the requirements of our customers.

We are proud of how well our business is performing and thank every one of our customers for contributing to our success.

If you run a business in Scotland, it is your legal duty to safely dispose of all waste produced by your business.  The rules tightened even further on 1st January 2014 when the law became that your business is legally responsible for taking “all reasonable steps to recycle as much waste as possible.”

Please do not panic.  At Central Recycling Ltd we can put recycling plans in place for you and give you recycling advice.  As a waste contractor this law also puts an onus on us to meet high recycling standards.  This means you can count us to recycle your waste responsibly and send as little to landfill as possible.

Your business will be required to take the following actions:

  • “Your business must present metal, plastic, glass, paper and card separately from 1 January 2014.
  • If you run a food business which produces over 50kg of food waste per week, you must present it for separate collection from 1 January 2014.
  • The requirement to present food waste for separate collection will extend to all food businesses which produce over 5kg of food waste per week from 1 January 2016.
  • Where food collections are available, it will be illegal to dispose of food into the public sewer, for example by using a macerator.

If your business is located in a rural area, you are exempt from all the food waste requirements of the Regulations, however, you may still want to examine the economic benefits of food recycling.”

We have an explanatory leaflet available in PDF format which outlines the requirements of the legislation and benefits.  Please e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots.
